Very good, well decorated, well furnished, updated Library. As a Library and Information Science student it amazed me so much. Very beautiful. And ambience is so good for absorbing knowledge and wisdom. Also get very positive feedback about this library from my various friends.

Very bad one of the worst library in Kolkata

This is the main Central library of University of Calcutta. The library is huge in size. There have restricted entry. only Students , research fellow, professors can have entry here, as its an academic library. The library has nine floors. Each floor has each sections. The ground floor has a small museum about the library & some art.. You have to enter to library by submit your bag to the ground floor. The first floor has the new arrival books, online catalog OPAC , Computer section. there have also some stack of books & books issue and lending section. The second floor is for reading section , Third floor is reference section. The fourth floor is for old collection historical collections. 5th is binding section. The sixth floor to the ninth floor there have only book stacks of different subjects. Book is everywhere & you will find every kind of book here.

It's a great place with various collections of books. Behaviour of the staffs are also very impressive and helpful.
