Learning music at For The Record has honestly been the highlight of my year. The studio itself is so thoughtfully put together, crisp, neat, and calming , that the moment you step in, it feels like you’re entering a different world. It’s a space that lets you breathe, create, and actually feel music. What I appreciate most about Kount is the way he brings you into the emotional and sonic layers of music. It’s not just about mixing or techniques; it’s about understanding the journey of how a track comes alive, the story, the transitions, the feeling behind every choice. He teaches all of this with so much patience and such a genuine understanding of where you are in your learning curve. Somewhere along the way, I realised I wasn’t just learning music, I was learning how to learn again, and discovering things about myself through the process. Truly grateful for this experience. Highly recommend it to anyone curious about music, creativity, or themselves.

Lew is an amazing teacher who truly understands each student’s interests and tailors the DJ course to suit their style. He covers all the fundamentals thoroughly and puts special emphasis on mastering original DJ techniques. I had a great time learning from him! If I could rate 10 ⭐️s, I would. Lew Hilt aka Kount is the best mentor/teacher one could wish for. From hand holding to pushing you to do your own thing, at the right time, he is the best. I just met (Jan’26) a music producer from Russia, who is doing this for the last 6-7 years and when I shared what I’ve been making in the last couple of months…he was amazed. All the credit to FOR THE RECORD and LEW!! ❤️

For The Record has great energy and pro-level training. The school’s setup is pro, and the vibe is electric. Can’t think of a better place to learn DJing. Convenient to book your classes and perfect location. Loved every session!

Lew has structured the course extremely well. Ive been really enjoying learning from the foundations all the way to advanced techniques. And its just super fun in general too. Highly recommend anyone to join this school whether for a hobby or even to learn professionally.
