I first started learning Carnatic music under Renuka ma'am's guidance about 25 years ago. Under her tutelage, I found immense joy in exploring different ragas through complex varnams and kritis. Over the last 6 months, I have resumed learning music from her over online classes. She is as talented, dedicated and patient with her students as ever, moving forward at the right pace giving us enough time to grasp the nuances of each kriti. She also ensures we learn the notations and understand the background of the ragas. Learning music from her has been a beautiful experience for me and I look forward to our classes every week. I highly recommend Raagam school of music to anyone who is looking to explore the world of Carnatic music, be it as a beginner or as an expert. We are based in Toronto, Canada and our daughter takes online Carnatic music lessons from Renuka teacher. My cousin, Shikhil Sasidharan was one of teacher's intial students and sings amazing and has been taking classes from teacher for about 10 years during his school time.
