NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR CIVIL SERVICES( NICS IAS ACADEMY)

I have been attending this coaching centre as a UPSC aspirant for the past four months, and this is my personal experience at this academy. As an amateur to UPSC CSE, I was searching for an institute to guide me in the right direction, and that’s when I came across NICS. In Nics, Mr. Shebin Sir is my mentor for UPSC. He has helped me tailor my study schedule, providing class notes, referring materials for additional knowledge, tracking our performance with mock tests every week, and helping me stay on track without getting deviated from the preparation. The classroom is very spacious, clean, and provides a comfortable environment for studying. There are extra rooms where you can sit and study even if you don’t have a class on that day. Also have separate staffs for Environment and CSAT, and they are all excellent in their respective subjects. I started my journey with NICS on August 5, 2025. If you are someone looking to join an academy that supports serious preparation, I would definitely recommend you to visit NICS.

Before I joined this institute in Jan 2025, I was actually self-preparing for a few months. During that time, I visited and enquired in multiple UPSC institutes across Nagercoil and nearby areas — but none of them truly felt right. When I joined this institute as well, I’ll be honest — I had my doubts about the quality. But now, after nearly a year, I can say with all my heart — joining this institute has been the best decision of my UPSC journey. The faculty here are too good, not just because they simply "teach," but because they care about each student. They make sure that every concept — no matter how complex — is understood by every student before moving ahead to the next topic. The class never ends until the last student gets the clarity of concept. That kind of patience and passion for teaching is rare. Each student is given personal attention, and that has helped me maintain my consistency and rhythm. I am seeing my own classmate traveling over 80 kilometers daily from Tirunelveli to Nagercoil just to attend classes here. When I asked him why, he said something like : "I can’t find this kind of teaching anywhere near my home." That said a lot about this institute. The infrastructure is good, and the focus on Mains answer writing has refined me a lot as an aspirant and made me more exam oriented. The weekly MCQ tests help us identify where we stand and gently push us to do better each week. If someone asks me what I gained here, I’d say — not just knowledge, but direction, consistency, and belief in my own ability to clear this exam. To anyone searching for the right place to begin their UPSC journey — in my opinion, there isn't a better place than this institute in both Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli districts.
