It is one of the oldest schools in Murshidabad district. It was established on 01/11/1853. Earlier it belonged to Krishnath College. On 09/08/1909 the foundation stone was laid by Hon'ble Sir Edward Norman Baker, the Lieutenant - Governor of Bengal. The school was shifted to its present imposing building donated by Maharaja Sir Manindra Chandra Nandy K. I. C. E of Cossimbazar. Now it is a Government sponsored school. The teachers are characterised by genuine feelings. The result is fulfilling expectations.

My school doesn’t have a big campus like other schools in the city. It is like a four-story building with a small garden at the centre. Despite the space constraint, I have never felt its absence, and I spend a wonderful time at school almost daily. We have regular classes and good teachers who attend to all our needs and questions. I feel like being at home in my school. I have never felt homesick and sometimes don’t want to go home after school. Learning new things and a healthy environment keeps me engaged and always busy for good. I never get bore at school and always strive to improve every day. Apart from education, my school also makes necessary improvements to my personality. It is where my aspirations get winged, and I get the strength and confidence to realize them. No other place in the world could replace my school and its role in my life. I will always be thankful to my friends, teachers, and school staff for making it such a comfortable and educational place of learning.
