Easwari Lending Library

I would like to share my experience regarding the service provided by the librarian on duty. Unfortunately, the interaction has not been very positive. The librarian does not communicate clearly when assisting with issuing or returning books. I often have to repeatedly ask whether a book has been processed or if something is available, as she does not inform me on her own. Additionally, her responses are minimal, often limited to a nod, without proper acknowledgment or basic courtesy. This lack of communication creates unnecessary confusion and comes across as unprofessional. Her attitude during interactions gives the impression of reluctance to help, which does not reflect the supportive and approachable environment expected in a library. I hope this feedback will be taken constructively so that future interactions are handled with more politeness, clarity, and willingness to assist.

Right from 1965, I was a member in Easwar Lending Library. The proprietor was Mr Palani who used to inform me whenever he receives the type of new books I normally read. He was a wonderful person. Miss him

I have beeen going to this place for a very long time. Everyone is friendly and help get your book. The books might be slightly damaged like slightly torn pages, or not soo good covers. The books hskd be mainted more ans maybe the can think of expanding theirspace tko contain more books. Over all nice place and trustworthy. Wld reccomend

Been a member for more than a couple of years but now quitted, cause the service is so poor and unethical. So much attitudes may also say arrogance from the current manager and from the reception. Such a shame that they even confronted that they were doing mere BUSINESS (which I considered a noble service at the expense of cost ofcourse) The book collection is wonderful and I assume it goes to the former leads who handled the library. But the current ones are ruining the work and the ethics of such a good library. Such a disgrace.

5 stars for nostalgia. I haven’t been here for a decade at least. Great selection of children’s books and comics. The books will be a bit used but that adds to the character.

We were a customer since 2018 we were often rudely treated by the staff. They treat certain customers differently and also the pricing for the books was unfair at times. The collection of books was great and the books were well maintained but the customer service was unfortunately bad.

It is a very old lending library with 4 to 5 branches in the Chennai city. I am fully aware of running such lending libraries. Kudos to the owners for the upkeep.perfection,excellent methods of operation customer friendly atmosphere and hospitality etc. I enjoyed my one hour stay there. Their job of promoting reading habit particularly among teens and younger generation is noble and highly laudable. RLN
